Charley left home about
7.o'clk: this a.m. in company
with C Haslup for Balto.
via Laurel, driving E. Gilpin's
gray mare to my buggy. expecting
to return sometime
tonight. Alice & Fanny
Peirce dined with us and
spent most of the day here.
Willie rode over to Riverside
on "bicycle" in the afternoon
Charley reached home
at 1.50 a.m. having
left Baltimore in the
11. p.m. train for Laurel.

Ther. Mon. Oct. 12th, 1885 Wea.

Thos Lea brought his
"grand son" (Tom Dickinson)
to commence going to school
to Miss Davis'. I mended the
road to the stable. and took
Charley down to the store
after dinner. It commenced
raining and blowing a gale
of wind from the East.
about 4.o'clk p.m. Willie
went to school on bicycle
and came home through the
rain pretty well "used up".
