About
Did you know that Sandy Spring was home to a professional baseball player? Sandy Spring native Jack Bentley was a left-handed pitcher over parts of nine seasons (1913–1916, 1923–1927) with the Washington Senators, New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies. Outside of his baseball career, Bentley also served with the 313th Infantry in France during World War I. This collection contains letters, essays, contracts, and family history from Jack Bentley's baseball career and personal life.
