Sir

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 11th ult'o No. 28/3 per the Lucy Anne, and in reply to the 3d paragraph I beg leave to report that thirty Ewes and one Ram arrived here by the Isabella in December last - I am sorry to state that ten of the Sheep forwarded by the Lucy Anne died on the passage.

2 --- George Baxter a prisoner of the Crown at this Settlement and formerly a Sergeant in the New South Wales R. V. C. has applyed [sic] to me to obtain permission from His Excellency the Governor that His wife may be permitted to join him, as this man has conducted himself much to my satisfaction I shall feel obliged if the indulgence can be granted to him

3 --- It appears to me that a few Horses would be of considerable Service to this Settlement. May I therefore take the liberty to recommend that two or three may be sent when an opportunity offers

Inform Cap'n Logan, that it would be more Satisfactory if he were to write more fully, stating any particulars that may have occurred amongst the Prisoners or otherwise -- The State & prospect of the Crops, - the prospects of any Works carrying on, with any other information which may be likely to prove useful --- I wish to know how the Establish't at Dunwich is proceeding.
