Sec. 6. That no house, building; tore or other structure shall be built, altered or erected in the city of Greenville without first obtaining a permit to do so, signed by the Chief of the Fire Departmen and the President or Secretaty of the Fire Commission.
Sec. 7. That the said Board of Fire Masters shall keep a record of all permits issued by it, in a book kept for that purpose. Ratified 7th day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ninety three.

Sale of Bonds
When refunding Improvement Bonds issuse 1886 to the amount of $10,000 the city of Greenville will issue bonds for a like sum, payable in thirty years, inrest at 4 per cent. under laws of South Carolina. Bids for said issue will be recieved up to seven o'clcok p.m. on February 6, 1906, by the City Clerk. Each bid must be accompained by certified check for $500.

NEW ORDINANCE.
AN ORDINANCE Creating a Board of Fire Masters.
Sec. 1. That a Board of Fire Masters for the city of Greenville, to consist of the Chief of the Fire Department and the members of the Board of Fire Commissioners for the City of Greenville, be, and the same is hereby, created and established a Board of Fire Masters.
Sec. 2. It is hereby made the duty of the Board of Fire Masters, and it is expressly authorized and empowered, on complain beinb made by any citizen, or in its coming to the knowledge of the board in any other manner, that any building, erection or structure in the corporate limits of the city of Greenville is dangerous to life or property, or likley to become so, or, if a building has insufficient or improperly constructed means of escape, or is liable to cause a fire, to inspect, or is liable to cause a fire, to inspect the same, and direct, by a notice in writing, the occupant or owner of such building or erection, to remove, alter, repair, or otherwise remedy the same, within the time specified in the notice, as to said board shall seem meet and proper.
Sec. 3. Said board, or any member thereof, or any one by them employed in the discharge of the duties prescribed in this Ordinance, shall have full authority to enter any building or lot for the purpose of making examination, and any person hindering or interfering shall, on conviction in the Mayor's Court, be fined not less than five dollars, or imprisoned not exceeding twenty days.
Sec. 4. Should the occupant or owner of any such building, erection, or structure neglect or refuse to comply withthe written direction of the said Board of Fire Masters, as therein required, such occupant or owner shall be subject to a fine, at the discrection of the Mayor, not exceeding five dollars, of to imprisonment not exceeding thirty days, for each and every week said directions shall remain uncomplied with, and shall further be liable for the expense incurred by the city of Greenville, should the work be done by the city, to be recovered in any court of cempetent jurisdiction.
Sec. 5. The Board of Fire Masters shall have power to make sure rules and appoint such committees for the convenience of their own government and for the transaction of business as to them shall expedient.
