James Douglas of New York, one of the early graduates
of Queen's, was elected a Trustee by the Council.
[The?] Doctor turned out to be a wise Councillor in all
University matters, and, as the sequel will show, one of the
[most?] generous and outstanding benefactors the
University has ever had. And sometimes losses come.
(?er) the Teaching Staff suffered a serious one in [the?]
departure of Prof. J.R. Glover, m.a., of the Latin Chair
[?] similar work in his own Alma Mater, the University
[of?] [Ca]mbridge. Here his high character and extensive
(?)accurate scholarship were much valued, and his
[resig]nation was the cause of deep regret to the Board [?]
Staff. The high expectations of his coming
[?]tion in many eminent services have been more [?]
[a]mply realized, and at the date of this writing [?]

Prof. Glover is one of the truly great leaders of [?ht], one of the most trusted examplars of personal
(m)oral worth amongst the English speaking peoples.
[?]is not forgottton Queen's, and so often as he re-visits
he is sure of a most cordial welcome, and the
