A Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day Present

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, Anglin, Clements, Gaskin, C.F. Gildersleeve, J.P. Gildersleeve
Harty, Irving, Law, Maloney, McCammon, McGuire, McMahon
McRossie, Snook, Wilson

A Communication from James Agnew Esquire, City Solicitor
was read stating a Countermand of the Notice of Trial Burrows
vs Kingston was served on him

A memorandum from James Agnew City Solicitor was
read in re appointment of Court of Revision for the Assessment
of 1881

On motion of Ald: McIntyre seconded by Ald: McRossie
Ordered, that the Court of Revision as at present constituted be the Court of Revision to entertain and decide
upon appeals from the Assessment for 1881

Requisitions from the City Clerk, Collecters of Taxes and messages
were read requesting certain articles. Referred to the Mayor

A Communication from Alexander Magurn was read in re
rebate of Taxes

On motion of Ald: McRossie seconded by Ald: McIntyre
Ordered, that the Communication of Mr A. Magurn be referred
to the City Solicitor for his report thereon

A Communication from W.L. Gordon and L Middleton, Collecters of
Taxes for 1879 was read hoping some steps will be taken to enable them
to make their returns at once

Communications from Francis Ellington, County Clerk
and J.F. Vanburen County Treasurer were read. In re Jury
Expenses &c

On motion of Ald: Snook seconded by Ald Fee
Ordered, that the Communication from the
County Treasurer and County Clerk be referred to the
Finance Committee

Ald: McCammon brought up the petition of James Wooten
praying the Police Clothing worn by him before he left Police
Force be returned to him

On motion of Ald: McCammon seconded by Ald: Wilson
Ordered, that the petition of James Wooten be
referred to the Police Commissioners with power to act

Ald: Maloney brought up the petition of Edward
Garvin in Re opening of Montreal street &c

On motion of Ald: Maloney seconded by Ald: Allen
Ordered, that the petition of Edward Garvin be referred to
the Committee on Streets to report.

Ald: Allen brought up the petition of John Reeve praying
for a remission of License

On motion of Ald: Allen seconded by Ald: McMahon
