A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the City
of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Clements, Drennan, Dunn, Gildersleeve, Harty,
Hobart, Irwin, Little, McDermott, McKelvey,
O'Brien, Redden, Shannon, Thompson, J Wilson

The Clerk read the Minutes of the two last Meetings.

A Communication from the Honourable George A
Kirkpatrick Secretary Board of Trustees Collegiate
Institute was read Re appointment of Trustee in place
of the retiring ones Messrs EH Smythe LL.D. and William
Irving.

On motion of Ald. Gildersleeve seconded by Ald. J Wilson
be the Trustees fro the Collegiate Institue

A Communication from A.P. Knight Esquire was read
asking for a remission of Rent of Hall on the occasion
of the Bingough lecture for the benefit of the Collegiate
Institute declared out of order.

Communications from Henry R Smith and others
respecting taxes were submitted and referred to the Court
of Revision

A Circular from the Provincial Board of Health
Re appointment of Local Boards of Health - Referred
to the Local Board of Health to report to Council

Ald Thompson brought up the petition of George T
Oldrare and others Vessel Owners respecting Taxes on
Vessels &c. Referred to the Court of Revision to report
to Council

Ald: Dunn brought up the petition of James Jackson
asking that he be only charged a half months License on
two billard tables.

On motion of Ald. Dunn seconded by Ald. Little
Ordered, That the prayer of the petition of James
Jackson be granted.

Ald: Little brought up the petition of John J. Maloney
asking for a remission of Taxes - Referred to the Court of
Revision

Aldn Carson and Robinson here entered

Ald. Carson brought up the petition of F. Baskey
and 24 others asking for a coal Oil Lamp on the Corner
of North Victoria and Albert streets - Referred to the
Committee on Fire, Water and Gas

Ald. Carson brought up the petition of F. Sommerville
respecting Taxes - Referred to the Court of Revision

Ald. Redden brought up the petition of Thomas Ronan
praying
