That the line of street submitted by Streets Committee
be adopted and City Solicitor be authorised to prepare
the necessary papers to secure the same.

In amendment
Ald Harty moves seconded by Ald J Wilson
That the City Engineer be requested to report
to this Council at its next meeting the probable cost of
opening up Sydenham Street from Johnston to Princess
streets - which being put was carried and the original
motion was lost - Yeas Mayor Smythe Aldmn Adams,
Carson, Clements, Drennan, Gildersleeve, Harty, Irwin,
Little, McDermott, O'Brien, Robinson, J Wilson, W Wilson - 14
Nays - Aldmn Birmingham, Dunn, Redden, Shannon,

The Council went into Committee of the Whole on the
second reading of the By Law to open up and make a street
from Montreal street to Redden street in continuation of Picard street.

The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was received.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the By Law was
read a third time and passed.

Ald Gildersleeve introduced a By Law to regulate
proceedings in respect of By Laws relating to local improvments
which was rad a first time

On motion of Ald Gildersleeve seconded by Ald Carson
Ordered, That the By Law be printed and circulated
amongst the members of the Council

The council went into Committee of the Whole
on the second reading of the By Law to make further
provisions respecting the erection of protected wooden
buildings within the Fire limits

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the second
reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report
was received.

was read a third time and passed.

The Council went into Committee of the whole on the
second reading of the By Law to name a street and to abolish
the name now used for part of the same.
