The Committee rose and the Chairman reported the
second reading of the By Law clause by clause. The Report was
received.

The 30th Rule was suspended and the By Law
was read a third time and passed.

On motion the Council adjourned

A Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present

His Worship the Mayor
Aldermen
Adams, Birmingham, Carson, Clements,
Drennan, Gildersleeve, Harty, Hobart,
Irwin, Little, McDermott, O'Brien, Redden,
Robinson, Thompson, Whiting, W Wilson

The Clerk read the minutes of last meeting.

The Clerk read the Communication from Robert
McLean Esquire Secretary Canadian Fire Underwriters
Association stating the City of Kingston is to be restored
to Class C on and after the 1st November next on the
understanding that the net income only of Companies is
to be the basis of assessing them.

A Communication from W Morrison Esquire was
read Re Chemical Fire Engine

Another communication from Robert McLean
Esquire Secretary C.F.U. Association was read forwarding
a copy of the Standard of Fire appliances and classification
requiremetns. The above communication referred
to the Committee on Fire, Water and Gas and the
Mayor

A Communication from Messrs Kirkpatarick and
Rogers on behalf of Jacob Sherman was read stating
they have received instructions to proceed against the
City for damages he has received by reason of flooding of
his lot. Referred to the Committee on Streets &c

A Communication from Miss AC Conlon Re
Water Rate was read. There was no action taken thereon.

A Communication from the Jared Army was read
asking for a remission of rent Ontario Hall. Referred
to the Finance Committee.
