Ald Clements in the Chair
The Council resumed

The Committee rose and the Chairman reported
the second reading of the By Law clause by clause
as amended. The Report was received.

The By Law was read a third time and
passed.

Ald RJ Carson introduced a By Law to fix
the plans in each Ward in the City of Kingston where the
nomination of candidates for the office of Alderman
shall take place and to appoint Returning Officers to
hold the nominations which was read a first time

The 29th Rule was suspended and the Council
went into Committee of the whole on the second reading.

reading of the By Law clause by clause in Committee as
amended. The report was received.

The By Law was read a third time and
passed

The Chairman (Ald Smythe) from the Select
Committee on the consolidaion of the City By Laws
brought up a Report (Number 111, Book E) which
was read and adopted

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Clements
Ordered, That Monday the 26th December
also Monday the second of January next be considered
Civic Holidays in consequence of Christmas and
New Year falling on Sunday and that the Mayor
issue the usual proclamation to that effect but with
the understanding that it will not interfere with the
Municipal Elections held on second of January 1882

On motion of Ald J Carson seconded by Ald E Law
Ordered, That the Mayor be requested to write to
the Manager of the Street Railway to carry out the
agreement with the City for running the cars over the
whole line of road in compliance with the charter.

Ald Smythe introduced a By Law respecting transient
traders

On motion the Council adjourned
