Ald Gaskin brought up the petition of John
Rowlands praying for the improvement of Herchmer
street and Herkmer Avenue.

On motion of Ald Gaskin seconded by Ald Mooers
Ordered, That the petition of J Rowlands be
referred to the Committee on Streets &c to report.

Ald Metcalfe brought up the petition of Martin
Dolan praying for a remission of frontage.

Ordered, That the petition of Martin Dolan be
referred to the Committee on Streets to report.

The Mayor read a copy of a communication sent
by him to the Warden and Council of Frontenac on the
subject of the Provincial Exhibition for 1879.

Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Drennan
That the following be a Committee from the Council
to Confer with the County Council with the view of obtaining the
Provincial Exhibition here for the year 1879 and that the Committee
be as follows: The Mayor, Aldermen Drennan, Walkem, Gildersleeve
and the movers which being put was lost Yeas 4 Nays 10

Ald Gaskin from the Committee on Finance and
Accounts brought up a Report (Number 645 Book D) No 2
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on City
Property brought up a Report (number 646 Book D Number 2)
which was read and adopted.

The Chairman from the Committee on Streets
and Improvements brought up a Report (Number 647 Book D Number 2) which was read.

Ald McRossie moves seconded by Ald Metcalfe
That the report of the Committee on Streets and
Improvements be received and adopted.

In amendment
Ald Carson moves seconded by Ald Drennan
That the report be amended by making the
amount be expended on Grove street this year $250
two hundred and fifty dollars which being put
was carried and the original motiion was lost.
