Saturday 4 OClock P.M.
Kingston March 3rd 1877

A Special meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the
City of Kingston was held this day. Present.

His Worship the Mayor

Aldermen
Allen, Asselstine, Campbell, Drennan,
Dupuis, Harty, Metcalfe, Mooers, McIntyre,
McRossie, Power, Price, Walkem

The Mayor stated he called the meeting owing to a paragraph
appearing in the papers in reference to the Government Assessing
the grounds of the Crystal Palace &c.

On motion of the Ald: Drennan seconded by Ald: Powers
Ordered, That it is expedient that this Council
take joint action with the County Council and County Agricultural
Society in regard to the Crystal Palace and grounds securing
and retaining the nights of said society and City's interests
in said ground and buildings.

On motion of Ald: Price seconded by Ald: McIntyre
Ordered, that it is advisable that a Committee
composed of three members of this Council, three from the County
Council and the custodians of the Agricultural buildings to
wait on the Minister of Justice in reference to the Agricultural
grounds and buildings.

On motion of Ald: Metcalfe seconded by Ald: Powers.
Ordered, That His Worship the Mayor, Aldermen
Drennan and Price be a deputation to act in conjunction with
the other Delegates to confer with the Minister of Justice relative
to securing the best arrangements respecting the Crystal Palace
Buildings and grounds.

On motion the Council adjourned.
