in these parts. By the way, I met Mr
Mansur - the gentleman who waited upon
Miss Mead - in the Trinity Church yesterday
He is in the hard-ware business in the
city, + boards at Brooklyn. I shall try
+ call on him today. The view from
the tower of Trinity Church is very extensive.
The tower is higher by sixty feet than
Bunker Hill monument. You have a
fine view from N of the whole city +
those adjoining it on both sides of the
river. I have not been over to the Jersey
side yet. Williamsburg is a smart
little place with many pretty ladies
as you may suppose when I tell
you we did not leave there on Monday
night until half-past ten oclock.
