rush. After arriving at L. we had to wait 15 minutes when we once
more stepped on board and came to our destined port. Thus
we had a very fine ride without extra price. But the scene does
not close here, we were absent from recitation, and as a matter
of course we heard the well known saying just before school
was dismissed Wednesday - "the following individuals are requested
to remain after prayers." Myself + comrads were among the unfortunate
number. As I was not particular about telling our
adventure, I kept back a little until one of the company told
Mr Taylor the whole story. He questioned pretty closely +
went through a rigid cross examination + then let him go.
So that after he knew the case I had only to tell him I was
in the same cars + came off quite easy. But it was hard
work to commence studying again after having such a fine
time, I did not get over it until the end of the week. My
visit home was a very fine one, in all respects, and because it
was so nice, it was all the harder to begin study. But this
week has brought us into place again, and we have nothing
but Greek from now until the close of the term. That time
is rapidly approaching only a fortnight from the close of
this week. I shall not be able in this to give you any plans
for the exhibition, but will write you again in season,
concerning all. I hope it will be so that Lyons can come and
see this Home of mine, she would like it I know and it would
give me much pleasure to see her here - I will not write
much more to night. Write me next week + I will answer
during the week following. A kiss to all and much love
From Leonard.
