His loss is universally deplored from the lowest to the highest. He was a soldier every inch of him, a rattling? officer and a God fearing gentleman. Major English was badly shocked when a Rum jar fell between him and Mr. Moses. The latter being slightly injured, both, of course, were sent out. Intelligence reports showed that the Hun artillery were a good deal more active than ours, with approx- mately similar actiity by Trench Mortars and Machine Guns. Major Warren in Command. We had four Patrol parties, one recounoitring and one covering party, out on duty, but they had nothing unusual to report. RBO'S do 17. Captain Slaght was buried at 2 pm at Villers au Bois cemetery. Padre Miller officiated and Major Olver, Capt Mcgloughin. M.C. Capt O'Sullivan of the Batt. were present. Patrol and working parties were active. Nothing unusual to report.
