EMILE sub-section 1918 Mar 17 cont.
planes were driven off. Artillery activity on both sides
normal. One of our Patrols out on Reconnaisance
work had a little brush with an enemy patrol
of unknown strength. No casualties can be claimed
and no prisoners or identificaitons obtained.
Weather quite warm & bright.

do 18 Major Parkinson returned from leave. Artillery
activity normal. Our planes active over Hun lines.
working parties did good work. Patrol reports in-
dicate a resfulness on the part of the enemy.
Operation Order no 14 issued 10 pm 17th March.
as indicated by it, "The 38th Can. Inf. Batt. will be
relieved by the 85th Can. Inf. Batt. on the night of March
18th/19th. On relief the 38th will be in support on the
left, taking over the dispositions of the 85th Can. Inf. Bn.
