Annual Report of the President.

To the Board of Trustees of the Ohio University
Gentlemen
The year just
closing has been marked by two prominent facts:- one of
them very agreeable; the other much less so.
1. The conduct of the students + their application to study
have been praiseworthy. Not a single case of discipline,
scarcely an occasion for admonition, has arisen during
the year. The quiet of the college has remained
undisturbed and work has been prosecutes with an
unusual degree of steadiness + spirit.
In these respects it has been a golden year.
The impressions of a stranger are given in the brief
report of Mr. Stoddard, one of the examiners appointed
by the Board last year. Mr. Stoddard is the only one of
the three persons appointed, who was able to be present
He spent two days in examining the papers presented
by the students in their various subjects of study.
