Annual Meeting, Thuesday Aug. 8, 1850
and that the acting Committee in like manner,
be requested to report the expenditures from the con=
tingent fund placed at their disposal, in order that
the same may be comprehended in the Reports of
the Finance Committee at each meeting of the Board.
On Motion Resolved, that the President and mem=
bers of the Finance Committee be a special Committee
with power to apply to the General Assembly to release
in whole or in part, the debt due from the University
to the State sinking Funds, and to apply, as may be
most advantageous, the funds arising from the sale
of Scholarships, to the payment of the debts of the University.
On Motion Resolved that Prof. Mather be allowed
to retain such amounts as he may have received on
account of his salary and tuition fees to the close of the
Summer Term; and that it be referred to the Faculty
to arrange with Prof. Mather for the employment of
a suitable substitute at his expense, during the time
he may yet further be detained from his duties in the University.
On motion, Resolved that the claim of the University
against Rev. Wm McGuffey
be continued in the hands of the Acting Committee for
further proceedings.

This being the day designated for an adjourned meet=
ing of the Board, and there not being a quorum in
attendance, the meeting adjourned to tomorrow morning
at 9 o'clock AM.
Wednesday Morning April 2, 1851
The following members present, Rev. A. Ryors D.D. Prest Rev.
Wm Aikin, A. Miller, J. Welch, L. Jewett, S.B. Pruden, J.M. Dana
Esquires and A.G. Brown Secy. There still not being a quorum
present, On motion it was resolved to proceed to business under the
regulations heretofore adopted and in such case provided.
On Motion Resolved, that the sum of one hundred dollars
be allowed and paid to Prof. Williams for his extra services
in the Department of Natural Sciences during the past term
under an arrangement made by the Acting Committee.
