1st Spanish Bible printed in Spain --> 1793.
A translation from the Vulgate by Rev. P. Felipe
Scio de S. Miguel, Vonfessor to Ferdinand VII.
All earlier Spanish Bibles were published outside
of Spain and generally without the approval of the
Catholic Church. Father Scio's translation was printed
in Madrid, and its 2nd ed. (1797) furnished the text for
the 1st Spanish Testament printed in America.
