Leaves not numbered. 37 lines, single column, black letter. Arguments and introductions before each book. Contents before and generally notes at the end of each chapter. All this matter is printed in italic type in this ed. Numerous decorative initials. Over 100 woodcuts employed, some of which occur in earlier ed. of the Bible and N.T. Sig: cross^8, fleuron^8, A-Z^8, & ^4, Aa-R^8. 678 pages.
The earliest [underscored] of 3 illustrated quarto ed. of Tyndale's version that Jugge [underscored] revised (with an introduction & notes) & printed. Jugge, who was a founder member & 4 times master of the London Stationes' Co. had first received a licence to print the New Testament in 1551. He produced many editions of the Bible in subsequent decades & was later granted the exclusive patent to the Bishops' Bible.
