Compiled the engravings of Hans Sibmacher in the Symbolorum at Emblematum:
Arber Joachim Camerarius the Younger (1534-1598). His father (1500-74), who
was a celebrated philologist + the friend + biographer of
Malenchthon, adopted the name Kammermeister, or Camerarius,
in place of the family name of Liebhard. Joachim the
younger was attracted to botany in his early youth. He studied
at Wittenberg + other universities + travelled in Hungary +
Italy. He spent some time in the latter country + took a doctor's
degree in medicine at Bologna. At Pisa he became acquainted
with Andrea Casal pine. Finally he returned to Germany +
settled in Nuremberg. Here he cultivated a garden which
was kept supplied with rare plants by the merchants of that city +
correspondents in other lands. Camerarius brought out
editions of Mattioli (Kreuterbuch + De plantis Epitome 1586)
but his chief work was the hortus medicus et philosphicus
which appeared in 1588.

Italian translatioon (Libri cinque della historia + materia medicinale)
+ with he 1548 ed. of the 6 books (Il Dioscoride dell
eccellente dattor medico m. P.A. Matthiolo)
