it appeared that Lincoln had 246 for Govr [GOVERNOR].
Barker Burnal [BURNELL] 187 for Senator
James Mitchell 87 for --"-- [SAME]

5 o/m [OF MONTH] The manifest excitement noticed among the people
here a little before & during the setting of the late
Court of common Pleas, was more than at any
former period. The uncommon large number of
cases (about 70 on the docket) and the various
complexion they were introduced in Court, drew
a large Concourse of the Inhabitants together
In what was called the Iron case
62 persons were sued by about 10.
This was occasioned by Iron saved from a wreck,
at the South side of the Island by several
different companies -- Another case that drew the
attention of the people was Squam. (see page 25)

Macy -- continued for default
