Sept 21st Strong winds and pleasant weather

Sept 22d This day we had a smart gale squally at night
enjoyed myself this day in putting beckets in my chest
and learning to splice

Sept 23d This day Sunday brought plum duff and a
fair wind with pleasant weather we also had a[LETTER COVERED BY STAIN]
meetings and a Bible class on board

Sept 24th Strong and fair wind with warm and
pleasant weather this night we had another grand
time in dancing

Sept 25th Fine weather and fair winds this day saw one or two grampuses this night we had another dance &c

Sept 26th Fine weather with a smashing fair wind we all begin to calculate when we are a going to make land
the Cape de Verds where we think we will have a fine time

Sept 27 Fair winds with some rain this night another dance with
some singing

Sept 28th Fair winds with pleasant weather this day John Bullock
got his leg hurt by a block falling from aloft

Sept 29th Calm with once in a while a little puff from the
Northward this day we caught some Dolphin the first we had
seen this day several of the men went in to swim

Sept 30th Calm with pleasant weather we are now in what they
call the Horse Latitude Saw 2 turtle [TURTLES] and more dolphin this
morning there was a shark round the ship and one the
men harpooned him but it tore out the boys went off
in the boats today for exercise one of the foremast hands dove
off the flying jib boom and struck flat so that we had
to hoist him on board it was Charles Percivar

Oct 1st This day we had quite a smart gale with pleasant weather
the Directors had a meeting the first one they have had on board

Oct 2d This day we had a smart gale with pleasant weather A brig and barque passed across our bow probably
bound to the West Indiaes [INDIES] or the Southern States many
of the passengers were absent from their meals this day
