(2) Agronomy and (3) Horticulture. The curricula are designed to provide
students with scientific and technical experiences needed in general farming,
extention work, teaching agriculture in high school and collages, positions in
government, special business enterprises and background for graduate work.

The Associated Departments of Agricultural and Home Economics Extension
and Vocational Agricultural Education carry supevisory and subject matter
training programs from the college with agents and teachers in the counties.
Their programs are especially designed to extend the services of the college
from the campus to commuities of the state.

The School of Agriculture is operated by the Dean of Agriculture who is
directly responsible to the President of the College for the Departmental and
Divisional heads, instructional staff and assistants.

The Dean is responsible for the coordination, supervision and promotion
of the programs of the Departments. He also teaches one course during each term.

The Department Heads are responsible for coordination and supervision
of the programs of their respective departments. They teach at least two full
couses in addition to the administrative and supervisory functions they perform.

The staff and assistants perform the instruction and related duties
of the departments.

The following are some of the outstanding graduates of the School of Agriculture.

- W. H. Williamson, State Agricultural Agent of the State of Tennessee
- C. V. Burnett, State Agricultural Agent of the State of Kentucky
- Ross Newsome, State Agricultural Agent of the State of Virginia
- S. B. Simmons, State Supervisor of Agriculture, North Carolina
