(1) Majors in Agriculter, Home Economics, Engineering, Nursing, and
Biology that need fundamental training in chemistry which might be applied to
their specialty

(2) Basic courses designed to meet entrance requirements to Schools of
Medicine, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine.

(3) Teachers of chemistry in high schools.

(4) Entrance to Graduate Schools for more advanced study in Chemistry and
Biochemistry or positions in industry or government as junior chemists.

Home Economics

The Department to Home Economics offers courses designed for curricula
leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in the following subjects matter areas:
(1) Clothing (2) Home Economics Education (3) Institutional Management and
(4) Nursery School Education. Two-year terminal programs leading to a certifi-
cate are offered in (1) Dressmaking, and (2) Cafeteria Management. The programs
are designed to train students for employment as teachers, home demonstration
agents, hospital dieticians, dressmakers and cafeteria workers.

The Department offers short courses in Nutrition Education to teachers
and supervisors in secondary and elementary schools and School Lunch Short Courses
for training of School Lunch Supervisors.

This department entered its new Home Economics Building the first of the
year. This building is modern in every detail and will enable the college to
turn out young men and women who are well qualified in all phases of Home
Economics.

Plant Industry

The Department of Plant Industry offers courses in agricultural engineering,
horticulture, agronomy, soils, forestry and geology. Curricula leading to the
degree of Bachelor of Science are offered in (1) Agricultural Engineering
