When your lot was put in order it was necessary to re[move?]
the top earth to put in a proper amount of soil, and it was not
possible to do the work properly and save the shrub.

I am sorry the shrub has been removed if you value it,
but I was not aware that its removal was a matter of any impor-
tance to you.
