The Treasurer begs leave to lay before the Committee his annual report on the State of their finances.

The time fixed for the annual meetings of the Horticultural Society, as well as other considerations of conveniences, have induced him to regard each year as closing on , whether instead of the the Anniversary of the Consecration of the Cemetery, and in future his accounts will be made up accordingly.

When the accounts were last rendered () 258 lots had been sold, the amount expended for land and improvements and appurtenances to the Garden & Cemetery was $21421.65 and the debt due from the Committee, including the notes given for land & signed by the President of the Horticultural Society, exceeded the assets by the sum of $4126.93.

Superintendent which from the difficulty in ascertaining the precise sums, or other causes, could not be brought into the current accounts.

The funds in the Treasury amtg to $3867.32 as appears by the Auditors certificate herewith submitted, and the debts to be collected, amtg to $1536 may be chiefly appropriated to the reduction of the Committee's debt in the opinion of the Treasurer, there being no reasonable doubt but the Sales for the coming year will be equal to the ordinary expenses. An outlay on the Garden may be deemed expedient this autumn in order to render it productive as soon as may be.

It may be proper to add that the whole number of lots sold is 351 producing the sum of $23225.72 and the Sales in the respective years were as follows, to wit;

First year ending 175 lots 11580.42
Second year ending 76 lots 5241.30
Third year ending 100 lots 6404.00
The variation from the late regular charge of 60 dollars per lot in the aggregate amount of sales, is occasioned in part by the extra dimensions of some lots & in part by premiums paid for a choice.
