Trustees - . (p. 216)

The President read a letter from W. W. Story Esqr in relation to his contract for the statue of his late father, and after considerable conversation -

Voted that the Trustees are very desirous that the statue should be completed within the time specified in the contract, and they cannot consent to an extension of the time.-

Voted that the Trustees will be pleased to act in concert with Mr Story respecting the substitution of American marble, if Mr Story and the Trustees can be satisfied respecting it, and the use of it will not occasion any delay.

Voted that it is the wish of the Trustees that the full sized model should be made and exhibited to them with the least possible delay.

Trustees - (p. 218)

A letter from W.W. Story Esq, dated , on the subject of the statue of Judge Story was read and considered - and it was thereupon &

Voted that Mr Story's offer to resign the commission given to him for making a statue of Judge Story, and to cancel the contract between him and the Trustees, be and the same is accepted. -

Voted that Dr. Bigelow and Messrs. I. Parker & C. P. Curtis be a Committee to confer with Mr Story, with full power to make a new contract with that gentleman, if possible, on such terms as they see fit.

Trustees - - (p. 234) Mr. Curtis, from the Comee appointed , reported an agreement between the Proprietors of the Cemetery, and Mr Wm W. Story, dated , which was read, approved and accepted. -

It was also Voted that the Prest be requested to correspond with Mr Story on the subject of a pedestal for the statue.

Mr. Curtis communicated to the Trustees a letter to himself from W. W. Story Esq on the subject of his statue of Mr Justice Story which is slated to be ready for shipment. It was then

Voted that Mr Curtis be a Comee with the full power to agree with Mr Story as to extending the time of the importation of said statue, and also as to the disposition of it on its arrival for public exhibition, provided that the final acceptance of the Statue be reserved to the Trustees. -

Trustees, - (vol II. p. 34)

Mr. Curtis of the Com. on the Story Statue submitted the proposition of Mr Story's agent in Boston, that the Statue (which had arrived in Boston) might be exhibited at the Bost. Athenaeum, with and at Mr Story's expense, until the Trustees should be ready to remove it to Mount Auburn, provided they would act on the acceptance at the Athenaeum - It was then

Voted that the Trustees will accept the Statue of Judge Story, delivered in the vestibule of the Boston Athenaeum, provided it shall be found in good order, and that it may be exhibited there by Mr Story until the further order of this Board, he keeping the same insured against fire for the amount of the cost of it, & taking reasonable precaution to protect it from

Voted, that upon the order of the Committee upon this subject, the Treasurer be authorized to levy the amount of the contract price to Mr Story or his agent.

Voted that Mr. Tisdale be added to the Committee upon this subject. -

Trustees. - At Boston Athenaeum. (p. 36)

Voted that said Statue be and hereby is accepted, and that the Comee in relation to the same be authorized to draw upon the Treasurer for the amount of the contract price. -

(There follows a Resolution Expressive of the satisfaction felt by the Board with the work.)
