North Ferrisburg 2 mo 28th 1861
Dear Cousin
R. B. Stevens I cannot withhold trying
to write as I have much of intrest I would
like to tell thee about Rufus & I are enjoy
ing usual health did not go to monthly [?]
yesterday because we had no one to leave
home with ( there was so much sickness
arround here we felt excused we attended
the funeral of Henry Kees wife & babe third
day they died with dipthera wer both buried
in one coffin the babe was 7 months old
they burried one little boy a few days
before, he has 2 children left one is [to--?]
Keeses is well the other sick but they third
will get well saw [?] [?] there told
her I thought of writing to thee she said
pleas give my my love & tell cousin we
are in usual health. I had quite a visit
with her [C----?] Bedu & wife are

with Jesus the prospect to her
was a pleasant one she is now better
but I think I will be down again
Rufus lived alone while I was
with Esther Jame's wife expected
to stay with Rufus but she was
needed with Mary Ann as much
as I was with Esther & Rufus bore
his solitude very patiently
Lindly Deans wife has a little
daughter born day before yesterday
weighs 8 3/4 lb she was very sick indeed
nearly two days is now quite comfe
rtable Samuel Miles wife has a son
four weeks old is smart, enough of
that subject
Seneca Stevens has Just come
from the [?] he left Queensbury
this morning is well is going to
Farnham & back to Morrow to spend
the summer
Half past 9 we have Just returned
from Senecas Moses not very well
Hilda has a cold is very hoarse they said
if thee has letters for them they
want them sent here Rufus joins
me in love to thee & all the children
