[Right Side] North Ferrisburg 2 mo 28th 1861 Dear Cousin R. B. Stevens I cannot withhold trying to write as I have much of intrest I would like to tell thee about Rufus & I are enjoy ing usual health did not go to monthly [?] yesterday because we had no one to leave home with ( there was so much sickness arround here we felt excused we attended the funeral of Henry Kees wife & babe third day they died with dipthera wer both buried in one coffin the babe was 7 months old they burried one little boy a few days before, he has 2 children left one is [to--?] Keeses is well the other sick but they third will get well saw [?] [?] there told her I thought of writing to thee she said pleas give my my love & tell cousin we are in usual health. I had quite a visit with her [C----?] Bedu & wife are {Left Side] with Jesus the prospect to her was a pleasant one she is now better but I think I will be down again Rufus lived alone while I was with Esther Jame's wife expected to stay with Rufus but she was needed with Mary Ann as much as I was with Esther & Rufus bore his solitude very patiently Lindly Deans wife has a little daughter born day before yesterday weighs 8 3/4 lb she was very sick indeed nearly two days is now quite comfe rtable Samuel Miles wife has a son four weeks old is smart, enough of that subject Seneca Stevens has Just come from the [?] he left Queensbury this morning is well is going to Farnham & back to Morrow to spend the summer Half past 9 we have Just returned from Senecas Moses not very well Hilda has a cold is very hoarse they said if thee has letters for them they want them sent here Rufus joins me in love to thee & all the children Sarah Hazard [Top of Page written upside down] we are much obliged for our can of sweet & mint to have paid Thomas for the can we thought we should have seen him again Esther was sorry he did not come there S. now at Senecas they have just returned from Monthly Meeting they came to Senecas seconday evening from Barton they wer blocked in there some days with snow he said they didnot stop to Mont Pelier but thought it would be on there way home they wer 2 weeks in Farnum have not been to Perue. Ann Dakin is yet failing a little, smarter some days but has sinking turns frequently & they think will not live long. We had a letter from sister Mary Siple's Daughter in Wisconsin informing us of the death of her Mother she died the [4th?] of this month with dropsey of the heart left a little daughter 7 weeks old the one next older about twenty months there oldest son died just one year before his mother there are 6 children unmarried the oldest girl about thirteen.

I will now tell the something about

the young people for I have no doubt but thee will feel an interest in here ing from some of them alltho there are many about here I'll not mention & first I must mention our dear little grandaughter born the 17th a well quiet child weights 9 1/2 lb I staid with Esther one week she gets along nicely no trouble any way thinks she will go back to her own bed room when her babe is two weeks old I am afraid she is trying to be to smart as they have other sickness in the house. Mary Ann Noonan was very sick indeed last week she kept her bed in the girls chamber when Esther was confined & the next night was very sick & seconday the family wer all sent for thinking she would not live through the night she had several spells she thought she was dying and going to dwell
