Southern Buttermilk Biscuits.
Take 2 cups cake flour,
sift before measuring, then
sift with 1 tsp. Baking Powder.
1 tsp. salt; 1/2 tsp. soda; Sift into
a bowl, then add 3 tbsp.
shortening, blending in
with pastry blender. Pre-
heat the oven to 400 F.
and when oven is ready
add 1 cup of buttermilk
to the dry ingredients,
stir lightly to make a
soft dough. Toss on a well
floured board, roll dough
to desired thickness.
Place on a baking sheet
but do not let touch
each other. Bake in a
hot oven. These will
melt in your mouth.
