Seed Cakes.
1/2 lb of flour
4 oz of butter
1/4 lb pulverized sugar
1 Egg
Wisk an egg when it is very
light mix a tablespoonful of
milk with it, pour slowly
into the bowl containing the
ingredients stirring well with
a wooden spoon add the grated
rind of a lemon, 1/4 oz carraway
seed and 1 teaspoonful of baking
powder, take up small peices with
2 forks and place in little heaps
on a baking sheet, bake in a quick
oven until brown, when finished
brush over with white of egg and sugar
