Ice Box Rolls

2 c yeast 1/4 cups water 1/2 c sugar 2 c boiling water 4 tablespoon lard 2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs, well beaten

Add sugar lard & salt to hot water then cool. add yeast Then flour. 4 cups flour Beat well. Add 3 1/2 cups more flour. Put in ice box and pinch off what you need.

Sunshine Sponge Cake 1 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cups water Cook until it threads 6 eggs beaten separately Fold in whites and then yolks. add 1 cup of flour & 3/4 teaspoon cream of tarter. Flavor. Pinch of salt. Bake like an angel food 325°

Date Bar's 1 cup of brown sugar 1 tbs of butter 1 cup flour 1 tsps baking powder 2 eggs well beaten 1 tablespoon hot water 1 cup of chopped nuts. 1 pound of dates Put on greased baking sheet Put in oven 450°

Squash Pie One and one half cupsful steamed and strained squash 2 eggs 3/4 cupful of rown sugar 1/2 teaspoonful salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 " " ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground clove 2 cupsful scaled milk 2 tablespoon butter Scald the milk, pour it over the squash and add slightly beaten eggs. Add seasoning. Line a pie plate with pastery and turn the squash mixture into it. Dot with butter and bake in a moderate oven on the lower grate until the filling is firm
