strong potash maid of the ley of
the ashes of red Oak bark boiled
down to the consistence of molass
to cover the cancer with it and
in about an hour afterward cover
this plaster with tar which must
be removed after a few days and if
protuberances appeared in the
wound apply more potash to these
and the plaster again unti they
all disappear after which heal
the wound with any common
salve cautery and the knife had
previously been used in vain this
treatment effected a speedy and
perfect cure
