O.FMoody sworn says.
I reside near Lake Fork. Have been
about Randles camp men. That was
in [?] 1878. While there Randle com
menced [caning?] a white convict working
[?]. and told him if he did not cut
up there he would whip hell out of him.
The man stopped and said he was
cutting as fast as he could. Randle
then jerked up a limb or branch off of a
tree, and struck him about a dozen licks
with it. He then told another guard to take
him down to the building and [? ?]
out of view. He was carried down, begging
as he went. seemed very feeble, barely able
to work. I don't know what was done with
him.
