Monday 26th

Dearest Pete:

Well the news in Europe sure sounds good to-day, so may be it won't be long before that war will be finished and then the Allies can concentrate on Japan and finish them off and you will get home again. We all will be glad when that day comes, won't we?

Yesterday was Palm Sunday and next Sunday is Easter. Harry has a fishing trip planned for that week-end. He won't come back until Monday night. He is looking forward to it, too.

Father MacMillan is back. I haven't seen him as he wasn't at Church yesterday but I hope he will be O.K. now. He really has been pretty sick.

Pete dear, I have all the clippings I could find & pictures too, saved for you of the battle of Iwo Jima. I have two (over)

Life magazines and a Colliers. They really have some pictures that you will want.

I wrote Faison but I haven't heard from him yet. He stays pretty busy working seven days a week and two babies. He really has two healthy children. They are big eaters too. Judy isn't nearly as large as James and she is nearly a year older.

Velma & Snookie are getting along fine. He is almost grown, especially in size. He wears a size 18 pants and they are too small after being cleaned.

Pete, Judy talks of you all the time. She keeps telling me that her uncle Jewell is coming to see her. And every time I write you, she writes you too. So hurry home to see Judy and us. She is growing taller but not fatter.

Mary, (the colored Mary) keeps saying Judy is going to look just like you. Don't you feel complimented or should Judy give you a quarter? Ha!

Well, as usual there's no news here. I will close now as it's about time for the Post man. So write when you can & remember I love you just heaps.

Judy sends oodles of love & kisses.

Love always Your Sis Eva Moorefield
