Nov.26,1929.
The high point Garden Club met Tuesday morning the 26th
of November with mrs.V.A.J. Idol.
All members, except five, were present.
Th e Corresponding Secretary read letters from Mr.A.E
Tate and Mr.T.A.Sykes, accepting honorary membership with
appreciation. Mr.S.C. Clark also expressed his appreciation
through Mrs.Clark.
In regard to the plan ting around the High School
athletic field, Mrs.Taylor reported that several roses had
been donated, so that it will ne necessary to purchase but two.
There was some uncertainty as to whether Mr.Lindley's of-
fer had already been accepted. Committee was requested to in-
vestigate this matter further.
The Treasucer reported $29.50 on hand.
The Librarian emphasized the value of several books, en-couraging the members to borrow them.
Mrs.J.E.Cox offered to bear the expense of securing a new
McFarland lecture on "Rose Gardens of america." The club
accepted the offer and discussed time and place for having
the lecture.Arrangements were left with Mrs.Cox,Mrs. White and
Mrs. S.C.Clank with power to act.
Mrs. Carter Dalton then gave an artistic paper on "Famous
Gardens of America" which the members listened to with such
close attention that they felt as if they could almost see
the gardens described. The Speaker had herself seen some.
