I am favour'd with your of 6th March [Per] Packet via
New York which came to hand by Yesterday's Post commissioning me to purchase
100 bbs Pott Ash for your Acc[ountt] on the best term I could which am oblig'd to
you for & should imediately proceed in the purchase but great part of what
has been made this last Season being adultrated with common Salt & with
Lime prevents till Essays Masters are appointed by a Law of the generally Assembly
who have it under Consideration & probably will be effected in the Course of this
Sessions ending next Weel when shall use my best Endeavours to comply with
your directions as to Quality Colours & pungency & to compleat your
Order as so on as may be £30 Sterling has been the governing Price this Season
till the bad Quality of some was detected since which many of the Purchases
Stoping their Hands has sold at £28~& if Essay Masters are appointed
it will no doubt advance to £30 again. we have so many buyers & many
of them interested in the Manafacture it will be difficult for a New beginner
to obtain even the small Quantity you write for on a Sudden however you may
be assur'd no Pain shall be wanting on my Part & as fast as I shall procure
it shall ship it & drawon you agreableto your former directions for the
amo[unt] of each Parcell I am

Andrew Oliver Jun[ior] Esq[uire] at 10 days Sights for £11.0.7/2 Philadelphia Curr[ency]
equal to £8.16.6 LMony which xxxxxx I doubt not will meet due Honor
being for the ball[ance] due to Your most hum[ble] Serv[ant]
