JOHN B. HAWLEY,
CONSULTING ENGINEER,
MEMBER AMERICAN SOCIETY CIVIL ENGINEERS,

MEMBER TEXAS ASSOCIATION CIVIL ENGINEERS.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, Mar 3, 1906. 1905

Hon. B. L. Waggoman,
Chairman, Street & Alley Committee,
City.

Sir:-

In the matter of the proposed opening of Burford Street, across the Fort Worth and
Rio Grande Ry., I have the honor to report:

That, in my judgment, this crossing should not be made, for the following
reasons:

The proposed point of crossing is in a cut, and at a point of curvature, a very
dangerous combination.

There is a first-class crossing only two hundred feet south of the point in
question, to-wit: Creswell St., and Creswell St. lies wholly within the City limits,
as shown by the deed of its dedication, dated May 15, 1889.

I respectfully recommend that Burford Street be not opened across the Railway.

Respectfully,
John B. Hawley
City Engineer.
