MEMBER TEXAS ASSOCIATION CIVIL ENGINEERS.
CITY ENGINEER, FORT WORTH.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, April 2nd 1906 1905

Hon. The Mayor and City Council,
City.

Gentlemen:

I have the honor to report that approximately fifteen miles of
the new Southside sewers have been laid, and, as soon as the tunnel
under Texas and Pacific Railway shall have been completed, (which will
be within this week,) will be ready for connections.

Several persons living outside the city and near the sewers, have
expressed their desire to connect thereto.

I respectfully suggest that such persons be allowed to connect. af-
ter agreeing to build their own laterals under direction and supervision
of this department, and that they each be required to pay the sum of ________
dollars per annum for such privilege, until such time as the district
in which they live shall have become a part of the City.

I recommend that the Sewer Committee and City Engineer report what
in their judgment will be a just charge for the service.

Respectfully,

John B Hawley
City Engineer.
