To the said Council of the City of Fort Worth:

Your petitioners, tax payers in the city of Fort Worth, respectfully represent:

That Central Addition in said city is now thickly settled, and the property is valuable, and the taxes on the same have greatly increased, and are still increasing in amount, because of the increase of the value of property. That North School street is the only street leading into said Addition. That the land next the river is much higher than that back from the river, and because of that fact during wet weather the water stands in said street so as to make it impassable.

Wherefore petitioners pray that your Honorable Body have said street graded and graveled, and they are willing to contribute a reasonable amount toward the grading and graveling of said street, and they pray especially that said street be graded, and that the said land be ditched so as to allow the water to escape from the said street, before the fall rains set it, and petitioners will ever pray.
