W. REID COAL AND COKE COMPANIES
DALLAS,TEXAS,

Nov. 16th, 1903.

Hon. T. J. Powell, Mayor,
Ft. Worth, Tex.

Dear Sir:

Please note we can quote you coal for public schools and other
public buildings in the city of Ft. Worth as follows:

Our Illinois extra fancy Big Muddy lump coal screened over a six-
inch screen at $6.75 per ton delivered at the various buildings.

Our Creek Nation fancy lump coal at $6.50.

This Big Muddy coal is a first-class coal and is as good as
the very best grade of the Colorado coals. It is free from slate and
slack and burns up clean without clinker. The Creek Nation coal is
the coal that we are supplying the city schools of Dallas, besides
shipping from five to ten cars per day to various customers all over
Texas. It is a good clean lump coal, free of slack and dirt and will
give you excellent satisfaction. We would like the privilege of
putting in as much of the Big Muddy coal on this order as we can get
cars to ship it in. We would also like to put in as much of the coal
between now and the 24th of December as you can possibly take care of,
and we will arrange to store a number of cars in Ft. Worth so as to
have it there when you need it during January and February when coal
is scarce and hard to get.
