Whereas, having been informed of
the death of Col John Peter SMith at
St. Louis, Mo_ on the morning of
April 11 1901, and

Whereas, the City Council in Special
Meeting assembled for the purpose
of taking appropriate action desire
to express its deep regret at his demise
and sympathy with his bereaved family
now thereore be it resolved, that the
City counicl of the City of Fort Worth,
recognizing in Col. smith
for the many years Mayor of this city.
a man of sterling worth and integrity and one who
always labored for the welfaare and
property of this city, often to the
detriment of his private interest
and one who at the time when the
city was bring launched upon its.
