Gentlemen;-
We, your committee on Water Works, to whom was referred
the matter of metering the entire water services in the city, beg to
report that after a thorough investigation of the matter we are of opinion
that it will be for the best interests of the city to meter all services
through which city water is used, and so recommend .

The cost of metering the city is as follows, .
With Piston Meter,......................$30.845.70
Cost of box's and setting meters,.......$8.215.00
Total,............$39.060.70

With Rotary Meters,....................$36.193.75
Cost of Box's and satting meters,.......$8.215.00

With Disks Meters,......................$27.012.25
Cost of box's and setting meters,.......$8.215.00

The meters can be purchased on terms that will practically make the
rest of the meters pay for themselves.

We do not make a recommendation as to the character or make of meter
to be used for the reason that we deem it expedient to investigate
fyrthur, and if it should be the pleasure of the council that the meter
system shall be adopted we recommend that the kind of meter and the
purchase of the same be left with the Mayor, City Engineer, Supt. Water
Words, Water Works Committee and Purchasing Committee, and that they
be authorized to select the kind and make the purchase of the same.
