Mother sent to Doctor Dobson, for a Violent [Humour?]
in the Face October 28 1782 - he advised her
to mix a couple of Tea spoonfulls of Brandy to a
Table spoonfull of Cream, mixing them well together
and applied to the Face, if the [?] become very
painfull - & if the humour become so Violent as to
Discharge to apply dry Oatmeal & [? ?] Her
Swallowing, he order'd, two thirds of Flower of Mustard
to one of Oatmeal, with enough Hot Water to mix it
into a paste, to be put on Occasionally by way of poultice
on the throat, to be kept on, a few hours until it become
[?oon?] [uneasy?], then to be work'd off with warm
Milk & water, & fine Rag wrapt 3 or 4 times
round the throat when the poultice is taken off
