The stately old Knott Home with its imposing columns, was built in 1826 for the bride of Thomas Holmes Hagner, then United States Minister to Great Britain.
Retired State Treasurer W. V. Knott and his authoress wife have lived here over twenty years.
Among the many priceless antiques to be seen here are pieces of furniture over one hundred years old, including an original Duncan Phyffe rosewood table and teak- wood hand-carved cabinet. These were inherited from Mrs. Knott's grandparents.

This residence is newer and of more modern architecture, yet it is definitely colonial. Its occupant holds the interest not only of his home town but of people all over the nation. He is the dynamic senior Senator from Florida who has the courage of his convictions and who therefore has engaged in many furious but successful political battles.
He and his beautiful wife, Mildred, known for her grace and charm throughout the Nation's Capital, reside here when in Florida and Senator Pepper's mother, Mrs. J. W. Pepper, makes her home here permanently.

EXHIBIT No. 11 GOODWOOD Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday- Hours: 1:00-5:00 The mansion on Goodwood plantation is a fourteen-room home of GeorgianEnglish architecture, surrounded by seven guest cottages, gardens, bridle paths and immense oaks.
The home contains the original bricks which were shipped from New York to St. Marks and brought the twenty-five miles to Tallahassee by ox cart-a four-day journey. The building was begun in 1839 and completed in 1844.
Among the interesting objects which can be seen here are a three hundred year old sundial, first editions, ancient coin collections and an original Watteau.
Goodwood is owned by Mrs. Margaret Hodges Hood.
