Remarks on board Monday, 13th 1837 The first part thick rugged saw whale loward cha ist them come very near get hold at might took in sail thick and rainy through the night latter part more pleasant finished boilin g at 5 AM maid sail at 7 commenced stowing oil in the main hole at 9 AM saw whales loward chaist them going like foxes with hounds after them to the NNW saw one ship. Latitude by obs 35"30 S Longitude 19"25 W Remarks on board Tuesday, 14th " 1837 First part of these 24 hours light breezes from ENE thick heading SE stowing oil at 2 PM finished at 3 PM saw whales loward & chaist them coud not catch them took in sail middle part thick latter part more pleasant maid sail heading by the wind to SSE imployed in cleaning bone saw one sail at 9 saw one right going so fast did not loar the boats Latitude by obs 35"16 South Longitude 19"34 West.

Ship David Webster of Sag Harbour Remarks on board Tuesday, November 21th 1837 The first part of this 24 hours pleasant breezes from the South at 5 PM saw 2 right whales chaist but without success at shortend sail middle part pleasant latter maid sail at sunrise saw whales loward & struck at 10 AM took him along side got one boat stoared 3 sail in sight. Latitude by ob 35"41 South Longitude 29"48 West. Remarks on board Wednesday, November 22 The first part of this 24 hours rising breezes from the NW at 1 PM saw 3 whales loward struck them all at dark took one of them along side blowing a gale before we coud get him secured with a chain lost him cleand up top sails & furld them clost reeft the main blowing a smart gale lying by our other whale latter part to rugged to cut imployed in mending boats so ends Latitude by obs 35"53 South Longitude by ch 29"36 West Remarks on board Thursday, November 23th 1837 This day begins with strong gales and rugged weather from WSW at daylight called all hand woke ship and hookt on to our whale got his body lost head & lips mid dle part started the fins latter part blows heavy hoisted up the boats. Imployed in mending the [stouven?] one saw nothing so ends Latitude by obs 36"01 South Longitude by ch 29"14 West.

Latitude by obs 36" 06 South Long 29" 48 Remarks on board Monday, November 28 The first part of the 24 hours strong breezes and rugged weather from NNW stowing oil at 5 PM finished at dark took in the fore sail and clost reeft the main topsail hoisted up the boats thick and rainy through the night latter rugged set double reeft topsail saw 4 right whales to rugged to lowar the boats Latitude 35"40 Longitude 29" 41
