April 20 Good Friday O the goodness of God in proloning my life to this anniversary day, O may the dear people keep this fast to the lord and have their souls fed with bread of eternal life this day is the last of lent, Fore year past Lydia and myself keep forty day lent we atte no meat all that time, no one knew of our keeping it but our self, we felt much happier and injoyed the fast O that my frail body would permit me to keep a fast I know that the lord is able to strength me, if I look to him for a blessing Almighty God we beseech the Graciously to behold thus thy famley for which our lord jesus christ was contented to be betrayed, and given up into the hands of wicked men, and to suffer death upon the cross : who now livith and reigneth with thee and the holy ghost over one god. world wothout end, Amen.

Rain and snow and cold so that I am oblidge to stay at home from church my ill health and many sorrows, were I to sit down and brood over the various circumstances of my late sorrowful bereavement, it would unfit me for every active duty My mind would dwell upon its own personal calamities, till my health would be more undermined, and all the faculties I posess prostrated, O when I think my son will never will return - O how bitter - but my blessed saviour, shall I rit down in despair, is there nothing left me to do and may I not be happy in doing thy will, is not that the best hapiness Oh may I bear some humble part in that immortal song Wonder and joy shall fill my heart, and love inspire my tongue My dear sisters did not come this morning as usual for the rain and storm prevent them friday morning -

the inscription on the cross was written in three language - Hebrew Greek and Latin which is Emblematical of the trinity Father Son and Holy Ghost - and likewise it signify that he will be preached to all nations and language Dr. O Haherty April 21 we are in expectation to have fare weather today after a weak storm, all is good that the lord send, and I pray that we may put our selves in his hands and say thy will be done, on earth as in heaven, Oh thus protect me till the last, long hour of rest is nigh, and then, when deaths long sleep is past, awake my soul on high, all those who truly love christ, they will trust in him and try to obey him in all things. that god may be glorified he is the author of all good, Benevolence is twice blest - it blesses those who give and those who receive.

April 23 Mondday Morning a pleasant and warm morning 24 I dream of my beloved son last night he was pleasant, I stood before the glass to tie his hankerchief as he used to do, I felt hapy in his presence, but O how soon they vanish here I brushed a tear from my eye, and acknowledged that mercy pointed the dart, often I called my children to unite with me in prayer for submission to the will of providence; and never shall I forget, when we knelt before my dear Maria remains, often Daniel thought of this and remember it; thy will be done, and rendered thanks to our heavenly father that we have two survived ones I pray that there lives may be long and useful in the world This afternoon Mr Phinny call to see us and made a fervent prayr for this family and for thy servent Mr I My heart was melted in devotion to my god in sending him here, the lord put it in his heart to come
