13 Thur
Quite a nice day with a few
showers. Cleaned my bedroom in morning
and made some ginger biscuits. Drove
tractor in afternoon. Mummy went to
Ely. Did errands in evening.

14 Fri
Quite nice day but cold.
Had a letter from Betty. Mummy
and I spring cleaned her
bedroom. I varnished floor.
Drove tractor for Daddy in evening.

15 Sat-s.r. 5.5, s.s. 6.56
Quite a nice day.
Drove tractor for Daddy in morning.
Cycled to Betty's in afternoon. She
met me. We went to the pictures & saw
Millions Like Us. Betty came half way
home with me. Ted brought my watch back.

On soil which is not too rich, make a sowing of Onions
for pickling.
All newly-planted fruit trees, especially those growing
against walls, should be given a mulch to conserve
moisture. Where American Gooseberry Mildew is
prevalent spray bushes with a wash consisting of 1 1/2 lb.
Washing Soda and 1 lb. Soft Soap dissolved in ten gallons
of water.
