Dear Sir,
I presume you cannot be more averse to receiving an old bill than I am to sending one -- but I do not feel that I am chargeable with neglect in the present case, as I have repeatedly endeavored to get the bill settled, I think even before Mr Arthur L. Devens died.
I enclose bill once more to you, & trust it will be settled. -- $7.50
I also send the bill of the Corporation for the care of the lot in 1866 -- the charge is $5.00 -- The order was signed by "F.P. Sherburne -- bill to Mr Devens 31 India Wharf --.
Respectfully yours
A.J. Coolidge Secretary & Treasr
Thos. W. Devens Esq.

It will be quite "agreeable to me" to receive the amt of bill $57.50 and interest as soon as possible, as the account has stood over two years and the Trustees wish me to close all old accounts at the earliest day.
